WELCOME TO THE OFIS COUNSELOR'S CORNER!
Mr. Tabar is the School Counselor at OFIS. He is located in room 414d. Mr. Tabar provides the following services to students: individual counseling, group counseling, and classroom guidance. Students can request to speak to Mr. Tabar at any time by visiting his office or completing a request form that is found in the main office.
Currently, there are several counseling groups:
Organization Army-This group meets in the mornings to help students learn skills that will help them to remain organized. The focus is on organization of desks, lockers, and school papers. Students practice following three simple rules to help with their organization.
Changing Families-This group meets at various times throughout the day, twice a month. Any students that are dealing with separation, divorce, or blended families are invited to attend and share their thoughts or meet peers dealing with the same circumstances.
Boys' Club-This group meets on an as needed basis to promote Social Skills.
Girls' Club-This group meets on an as needed basis to promote Social Skills.
In order to participate in one of these groups, please contact Mr. Tabar.
Each year, Mr. Tabar will visit every classroom once a month to provide guidance lessons. Below is an overview of the scheduled classroom lessons by month:
