How long will the Olmsted Falls City School District be closed?

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 (coronavirus), Governor Mike DeWine ordered all schools in Ohio to close effective end of the school day on Monday, March 16. Many schools, including OFCS, began their extended closure beginning Friday, March 13th to provide staff the opportunity to prepare distance learning materials and for students/families to pick up materials, personal belongings and medications from buildings in a staggered manner ahead of building’s being locked on March 16th. The governor’s initial school closure order extended through Friday, April 3rd.  Subsequently, the governor’s Stay at Home Order, issued on March 22nd, currently extends through Monday, April 6th. The Olmsted Falls City School District will be closed through April 6, 2020 - unless directed differently by the governor’s office.

Olmsted Falls City School District is currently monitoring daily press conferences and will continue to follow all orders from the governor’s office.  Governor DeWine has indicated that dates will be re-evaluated and are subject to change. At this time, we have begun planning for a more extended closure as we await further updates.  Please be sure to monitor regular updates being provided by OFCS to our school families. We will continue sending email communications and posting new updates regarding the extended school closure on the district website and on social media.
