OLMSTED FALLS SCHOOLS WELCOME TWO NEW ASSISTANT PRINCIPALS

Olmsted Falls High School and Olmsted Falls Middle School welcome new administrators to their buildings for the 2006-2007 school year. Mr. Brady Sheets will serve as the new assistant principal at the High School. Ms. Tracie Lees will join the Middle School as the new assistant principal at that building, replacing Mr. Donald Svec who is now the principal at Fitch Intermediate School.

Mr. Sheets comes to Olmsted Falls High School from Westlake City School District, where he most recently served as assistant principal of Lee Burneson Middle School. Prior to working in Westlake, Mr. Sheets served as principal of Fort Jennings High School in Fort Jennings, OH. He began his career as an English teacher in Arcadia Local Schools in Arcadia, OH, where he also served as Athletic Director. Mr. Sheets received a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Bowling Green State University, and a Masters of Arts in Communication from the University of Findlay.

“Mr. Sheets background and experience in administration coupled with his experience dealing with educational technology, such as SMART boards, will be an incredible asset to further enhancing e-learning opportunities at the High School,” said High School principal Bob Trapp.

“I look forward to working in the community in which I live,” says Mr. Sheets, who resides in Olmsted Township. “I see great opportunities to use my skill set to assist the District in preparing students for a future being largely driven by technology.”

Ms. Tracie Lees also comes to Olmsted Falls Middle School from the Westlake City School system where she most recently worked as part of the Westlake High School faculty. Ms. Lees has a strong curriculum background and served as chair of the Licensure and Professional Development Committee at Westlake City Schools. She also held an integral leadership position on the Westlake City School District’s Continuous Improvement Committee. Ms. Lees spent twelve years as a high school English teacher. She also teaches college-level English at Tiffin University. Ms. Lees received a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Ohio University, a Master of Education from Ohio University, and an Education Administration license from Ashland University.

“In addition to her exceptional curriculum and writing skills, Ms. Lees possesses a natural ability for communicating and establishing a strong rapport with students, parents, community members and colleagues,” said Middle School principal Mark Kurz.

“Meaningful results must be the product of a unified school community whose focus is on the ultimate outcome of successful achievement of all students,” says Ms. Lees. “I look forward to collaborating with the administration, teachers, parents and community to ensure continued excellence in education for which Olmsted Falls has become known.”

Both new administrators began transition work during the summer and are eager for the start of the new school year. Please join Olmsted Falls Schools in welcoming these dynamic new administrators.
