 As the Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Jim Lloyd serves as the district’s central office administrator who oversees the development and implementation of all instructional programs for the Olmsted Falls City Schools. Dr. Lloyd works collaboratively with staff to ensure the alignment of curriculum, instruction and assessment for the purpose of facilitating high levels of student achievement and growth for all students. Additionally, Dr. Lloyd oversees professional development for all certificated staff. The focus of the Assistant Superintendent is to work with the Superintendent and administrative team in order to more clearly define what students should know and be able to do and clearly articulate it to them prior to and during the instructional process through the use of feedback. Dr. Lloyd works with the instructional staff to develop measures to determine whether or not students are indeed making progress in their learning and assists in creating academic supports to those who are struggling. Further, Dr. Lloyd works with educators to assist in the creation of extension opportunities to those students who are ready for more advanced learning concepts. The focus of the Olmsted Falls City Schools is to provide an instructional program that is delivered in a manner that is grounded in current research pertaining to how students learn most efficiently, effectively and appropriately.
Dr. Lloyd began his career in Olmsted Falls as the District’s School Psychologist and rejoined the District in August 2007. Prior to returning to Olmsted Falls, he was the Director of Student Services at Westlake City Schools for 9 years. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Ohio Wesleyan University, a Master of Arts degree in School Psychology from the University of Akron and a doctorate from Ashland University in Educational Leadership. Dr. Lloyd has served as an adjunct professor for Ashland University and Bowling Green State University as well. He has his Administrative and Superintendent Certificates from Cleveland State and Ashland respectively.
