MARCHING BAND SPENDS MORNING “KICKIN’ IT WITH KENNY” AT THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME

The Olmsted Falls High School Marching Band brought Bulldog pride to the Fox 8 Morning Show – and all of Northeast Ohio – on Friday, Sept. 7th when they were featured on the popular “Kickin' It With Kenny” segment. The band performed 8 songs as well as numerous short selections with featured groups from the band. The Fox 8 reporters repeatedly said that "this sounds like a college band!" To view highlights from Friday’s appearance, please click here.

The group also attended a class entitled “From Four Tracks to Break Beats: Music and Technology,” where they learned about the early history of recording and witnessed live examples of looping and overdubbing. The group also learned that the "seagulls" on the Beatles Tomorrow Never Knows was really a sped up sample of Paul McCartney laughing!
The group then toured the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame including exhibits on the history of pop music as well as the development of the instruments that are commonly used by the musicians.

Kudos to our band for representing their school and their community so well.  Mr. Strelau was later contacted by the Rock Hall people who said, "This is the largest band we have ever had here and there was not one complaint."
Thanks to the High School Administration for their support of this trip!

What a great educational day for all involved!
