OLMSTED FALLS SCHOOL DISTRICT PARENT FEEDBACK SURVEY

DISTRICT SEEKS INPUT FROM PARENTS, GUARDIANS, & CAREGIVERS

Olmsted Falls City School District is requesting feedback from parents, guardians and caregivers to further enhance the partnership between school, home and community. All Bulldog parents received an email invitation to participate in the OFCS Family Survey. The link to the survey can also be accessed here:

For many years, researchers have concluded that when parents and caregivers are engaged with their school, their children are more likely to:

· Earn high grades and test scores and enroll in higher-level programs;

· Pass their classes, earn credits, and be promoted;

· Attend school regularly; and

· Graduate and go on to postsecondary education. (1)

Perhaps you spend time reading to your child, helping with homework, and encouraging participation in extracurricular clubs/teams. You attend parent-teacher conferences, volunteer at school, and support college and career planning. You come to performances and games and school events with your child. You may have already noticed the positive outcomes that this kind of involvement generates. Maybe you are not able to do all of these things or even some of them.

While many parents would like to be more involved, today’s families are often pulled in many directions and may struggle to find the time or energy to stay on top of what their child is doing at school. Yet it is still important for those families to feel engaged with and connected to their school, as the benefits to the students and community are so important.

The Olmsted Falls School District recognizes that we must do our part to reach out to all parents and caregivers to be partners in the education of the students in our community. As a result, we hope that you will help us to learn how we can help you, and offer input on where we can improve by participating in a brief online survey. This family survey will take about 10 minutes to complete. It is our hope to hear from as many Bulldog parents and caregivers as possible, and to use your feedback to design programs and initiatives to strengthen our connection with you.

Thank you in advance for your time and input.

Please contact OFCS Family & Community LINK Coordinator Julianne Allen at jallen@ofcs.net with any questions.
