GENERAL TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION

Thanks to the recent passage of the district's operating levy in April 2020, transportation services will remain available for all students in grades K to 12 in the Olmsted Falls City School District.  Bus postcards confirming individual student bus route information are typically mailed home each year in August.  Please call the Transportation Department at 427-6350 if you have any questions about your child's bus route.

Thank you!

IMPORTANT OFCS TRANSPORTATION NEWS

Alternate Transportation Forms:  Annual Alternate Transportation Request Forms for 2020-2021 are now available. Please scroll down for important details, deadline and access to forms.

Address Changes Over Summer: The Transportation Department is advising parents to please contact them with any address changes over the summer, so students can get  assigned to the appropriate bus routes. Please simply plan to call 427-6350 to provide the updated information.  If no answer, please leave parent name & phone number, along with student's name, grade, and new address info on the voicemail.  This information can also be emailed to jholecko@ofcs.net or hkrakowiak@ofcs.net. Please note that official address changes MUST be made directly your child's school building when school office re-open following the summer break. Advising the Transportation Department is simply a planning tool and does not result in a change in a student's official building records.

Change in Transportation Use: The Transportation Department is also asking families to please call in to advise if you know your student(s) will not be using bus service at all in the upcoming school year. This helps them in planning the most efficient routes possible by being able to eliminate unnecessary stops. Please call 427-6350 or email jholecko@ofcs.net or hkrakowiak@ofcs.net to report if your child will not be using transportation services in 2020-2021.

ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS

FOR THE 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR

THE DEADLINE FOR ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION REQUESTS FOR

2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR IS MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2020.

PLEASE NOTE: NO LATE FORMS ACCEPTED.

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING COVID-19 DISTRICT CLOSURE

Olmsted Falls City School District is currently accepting Alternate Transportation Requests for the upcoming 2020-2021 school year as we normally would. Forms must be submitted by the normal June 15 deadline. However, please note that due to the ongoing closure of all Ohio schools and uncertainty regarding what the return to school in the fall may look like, Olmsted Falls City Schools will not be able to process and approve 2020-2021 alternate transportation requests until we have further clarification on orders from the Governor’s office and guidance from state and local health officials

Please plan to submit your forms as usual, and we will keep you updated as to the status when more definitive information is available. Olmsted Falls City School District will need to reserve the right to alter/replace/cancel forms if needed.  Again, we are committed to keeping our families informed with information as it becomes available. Please contact the Transportation Department at 427-6350 if you have any questions.

ABOUT ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION FORMS

Assuming normal transportation operations this fall, students must be picked up and dropped off by an Olmsted Falls School bus at a single location, morning and afternoon, for the entire school year. This location may be the student’s residence OR another single, designated alternate location within District boundaries. No day-to-day or week-to-week changes will be permitted.

Parents will be asked to identify a single location for pick-up and drop-off for their child(ren) that is consistent the entire school year. If this single location is different than the child’s residence, then an Alternative Transportation Form must be submitted to the Olmsted Falls Transportation Department on or before June 15th each year.

Students may still be dropped off or picked up by local daycare providers at the school which they attend or at the Falls-Lenox hub. This will also require an Alternate Transportation Form be submitted by June 15th each year.

Alternate Transportation Forms for the 2020-2021 school year can be downloaded below. Please call the Transportation Department at 427-6350, if you have questions regarding which form best fits your situation.
