I hope everyone had a great first week back to school! The Olmsted Falls City Schools Food Service Department was happy to see students back in our cafeteria on their in-person days, and we are appreciative of your support. We are emailing to follow-up with further details on the USDA’s Free Meals for All and how meals will be provided for the school days that your student is NOT physically in the building.
FREE Meals for ALL
The USDA has approved that ALL school meals will be provided FREE of charge no matter your economic status through December 31, 2020. Please do not hesitate to take advantage of this benefit! Whether in-person or through our curbside pick-up service (details below), we are happy to serve your students. Even though the meals are free of charge for students, our district receives government reimbursement from each meal served, which helps fund food service operations. Even with these free meals, we still encourage you to have money on your student’s EZPay account so they will have the ability to purchase an extra treat from our healthy a la carte options. (A la carte options such as chips, ice cream, etc., are not part of the free meal offering, but will still be available for purchase by students on their in-person attendance days.)
Curbside Pickup Service for School Days Your Student is NOT in the Building
Thank you to those who filled out the survey last week that allowed our staff to plan for this service. Starting this Monday, September 14th, we will be running a curbside pickup service to provide breakfast and lunch for school days your student is NOT in the building. Below is the curbside pickup schedule. Please note that your pickup location may vary by day:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (At-Home Learning Days)
Pick up from 11:30am -12:30pm at 2 locations as follows:
Wednesday (Remote Learning Day)
Pick up from 11:30am -12:30pm at 3 locations as follows:
To pick up your meal order(s), please pull up to the front of each building and stay in your cars. A staff member will hand you the meal(s) that you have ordered. If you ordered both a breakfast and lunch, you will receive them at the same time. Your student does not have to be present with you to pick up a meal and there will be no ID required.
If you would like a meal for your student but are not able to pick it up, please coordinate with a neighbor/relative to pick it up for you. At this time, we are unable to offer a home delivery service.
Food Service Ordering Process for School Days Your Student is NOT in the Building
In order to properly plan and provide this curbside pickup service, orders for breakfast and lunch must be placed on this Daily Order Form by 11:59 pm the day before. To order for the upcoming school day when your child will NOT be in the school building, this form will be open and available from 3:00 pm - 11:59 pm the day before. For example, meals for Monday need to be submitted by 11:59 pm on Sunday night.
When students are physically in the building for their in-person days, there is no need to use the daily order form. Please bookmark the form on your computer or mobile device so you have easy access to it!
