Dear Bulldog Families,
As mentioned in this week’s update regarding the upcoming transition to 5-days per week instruction, Olmsted Falls City School District will need to cancel school for all students PreK -12 in order to allow us to efficiently administer the COVID-19 vaccine to our staff members. We have now been informed of the two dates assigned to our district for the vaccination administration being coordinated through the County Board of Health and the Educational Service Center of Cuyahoga County.
The vaccination dates for the 1st and 2nd doses of the vaccine for participating OFCS staff members will be:
Friday, February 19, 2021
Friday, March 12, 2021
BOTH OF THESE DATES WILL BE NON-STUDENT DAYS FOR THE DISTRICT.
Please note that Friday, February 19th was previously a student school day on our district calendar and will now be changed to a non-student staff only day. Friday, March 12th was already planned as a non-student day on the district calendar.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Making February 19th a non-student day will now make the week of February 15th a 3-day school week with the Presidents’ Day holiday on Monday, February 15th. Following is the schedule that will be followed by grades 1-12* during that week:
Monday, February 15 -- Presidents' Day Holiday - No School
Tuesday, February 16 -- Blue Day
Wednesday, February 17 -- Blue Day
Thursday, February 18 -- Gold Day
Friday, February 19 -- Staff Vaccination Day - No School for Students
*All ECC students will follow their regular schedule on Tuesday 2/16, Wednesday 2/17 and Thursday 2/18.
This will be the last week that follows a specific blue and gold schedule since the district will officially transition to the new 5-day per week instructional model the following week of February 22nd.
PLEASE ALSO NOTE that there will NOT be curbside meal pick-up service available on either of these upcoming non-student days (2/19/21 & 3/12/21) in order to allow our food service staff members to participate in the vaccinations. There is also no curbside service on the Presidents’ Day Holiday (1/15/21).
Reminders will be included on the district blog and sent from the building level as these dates approach.
