OFCS Reopening Survey for Bulldog Families (7/8/20 11:30 AM)

IMPORTANT SCHOOL REOPENING SURVEY FOR FAMILIES

Dear Bulldog Families:

As we continue to plan for the reopening of our schools this fall, gathering input from all of our Bulldog families is critical Please take a few minutes to complete this important electronic survey to share feedback from your family’s perspective on a variety of areas relating to the reopening of schools this fall.

The district recognizes the difficulty in making these choices and the preference by all is to have kids back in school, everyday, all day. Until we are able to accomplish this, we will need to be creative. The questions within the survey are meant to help provide feedback to the committees that will create a learning schedule for students. Your feedback will help guide the district's decision making.

The school planning guides have been released by the Ohio Department of Education and Department of Health. The guidelines contain protocols that are suggested, recommended and required.  Sanitizing, frequent hand washing and availability of cleaning supplies would apply to all protocols.

The implementation of the type of recommended protocols will have a direct impact on the number of students we are able to educate a particular time. The biggest difference between the three protocol levels is student distancing. As a result, we are forced to balance sanitizing, cleaning and distancing, with learning. The three protocols are listed below:

Suggested: School takes temperatures of students & staff; 6-feet distancing in classrooms.

Recommended: Families and caregivers monitor student temperatures at home; 3-feet distancing in classroom environment; visitors limited to schools; face coverings for students in grades 3-12.

Required: Families and caregivers monitor student temperatures at home; school "does its best" with distancing requirements in classroom environment; frequent hand washing opportunities; surfaces cleaned frequently; cleaning supplies readily available; face coverings for staff members; a face covering policy; students taking district transportation wearing face coverings.

This survey will be open through Sunday, July 19th in order to maximize the opportunity for our families to share opinions about a number of possible scenarios along with other logistical considerations regarding the reopening of our schools.  Your feedback is very important to this process!  Please make sure your voice is heard.

Again, this survey will remain open and accessible through Sunday, July 19th.

Thank you in advance for your time and feedback.

Sincerely,

Jim
