Homecoming Tickets

Homecoming Info

The OFHS Homecoming dance is quickly approaching and we wanted to share some details about tickets. The dance is on October 5 from 7pm-10pm at OFHS. ALL TICKET PURCHASES ARE ONLINE THIS YEAR. We feel this change is in the best interest of our students. Below is the link to the tickets:

Reasons we went to online ticket sales are:

1) OFHS students do not have to sell tickets and handle money. Mistakes are often made while giving change, etc. We want the accounting on our end to be correct, and do not want any student to have to be questioned about missing funds.

2) In the past, we sold tickets only during the lunch periods at school. Therefore, it was difficult for online CCP students, students who attend Polaris or Ombudsman for part of the day, etc. to purchase their tickets. Additionally, any student who decided at the last minute (on the day of the dance, for example) that they would like to attend was not able to purchase a ticket. With online ticket sales, students will be able to purchase tickets the day of the dance (October 5) until 12pm!

3) Last year, it took some students up to 45 minutes just to get into the dance. With online ticket sales, each student will have a personal barcode that can be scanned from their phones for quick entrance. This will also help us keep track of who is there and who is missing.

Here are some problems/solutions

Problem: I/my parent does not have a credit/debit card for online ticket purchases

Solution: Someone else is able to purchase your ticket, using their credit or debit card. You can pay that person back in cash or check. Multiple tickets can be purchased in one transaction.

Problem: My boyfriend/girlfriend wants to purchase the tickets and he/she is not an OFHS student.

Solution: They can. You do not have to be an OFHS student to buy the tickets

Problem: My friend bought my ticket and the ticket is on his/her phone. How can I get into the dance?

Solution: The friend can screen shot your personal barcode and text it to you, or send you the confirmation email which contains your barcode for admittance.

Additional Information:

If you are bringing a guest, you must pick up a guest form in the Student Office from Mrs. McGrain. Anyone grades 9-12 may bring a guest. Guest forms need to be returned by October 4. No one will be permitted into the dance after 8pm. Once you leave the dance, you will not be allowed back in. Tickets are $15 this year (plus a small online convenience fee, which is paid to TicketRoar). The Homecoming Dance is a fundraiser for Student Council. The more money we raise, the more scholarships we are able to provide to our seniors! Last year, Student Council awarded 12 individuals $8,000 in scholarship money. Student Council has already spent a few thousand dollars on a DJ/lighting/special features, decorations, and a photo booth, and therefore, we do need to charge admittance to make this money back, plus have a surplus for the Senior scholarships and other activities that we sponsor each year.
